About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic and experienced Vice President of Finance to take on a pivotal role in overseeing its accounting, financial operations, and federal grants and contracts functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization's annual budget, directing financial systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, and balancing risk and compliance with innovation. This leadership position also involves mentoring the finance and accounting team, and partnering with senior leadership to support strategic planning for the company's sustainability. The ideal Vice President of Finance will be adept at evaluating and establishing the financial systems necessary for the organization's health, setting annual financial goals, and improving financial processes. A key aspect of the role is the ability to balance long-term strategic planning with the immediate needs and challenges of a complex and evolving education-adjacent not-for-profit organization. The candidate should be prepared to lead in a transparent manner, with regular communication and reporting to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees.
