Department/Unit Summary
5A is an acute care medical surgical unit
On a typical day, 5A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/nurse ratio
We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions
The conditions include illnesses, surgery, testing and observation patients
We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatric issues

Qualifications:
Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school ( bachelor's degree preferred).
Additional requirements include:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Experience in clinical area preferred
