* This position is NOT remote. This will be on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Irvine, CA

Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller & Coder to join our corporate billing team in Irvine. This individual will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, processing insurance claims, and ensuring timely and complete reimbursement for services rendered. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong knowledge of coding guidelines and medical billing procedures specific to urgent care or outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Ensure proper documentation supports the codes used and services billed
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility as needed
• Work with clinic staff and providers to resolve coding or billing discrepancies
• Post payments and reconcile accounts as necessary
• Assist in audits and reporting related to coding and reimbursement
• Stay up to date with changes in billing/coding regulations and compliance standards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in urgent care or outpatient care
• Proficient in EMR systems and medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, Athena, or similar)
• Strong understanding of insurance guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
