Job Title: Electronics Technician III

Location: Columbus IN – Onsite

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Flexible hours between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to support Controls Lab operations. This technician will play a hands-on role in the troubleshooting, configuration, and support of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems and lab equipment. The position involves completing technical work orders, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring all lab systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and complete work orders related to test system setup and maintenance

• Support hardware setup and system configuration for HIL test environments

• Troubleshoot and resolve test equipment software and hardware issues

• Perform setup changes for test benches and systems as required

• Install and configure support software tools such as CyberApps, LUIS, and related sequences

• Modify wiring harnesses to integrate sensors, instruments, and engine components (e.g., IAT, EGR, VGT)

• Document hardware configurations including serial numbers, hardware types, and system load drawers

• Maintain CAN panel and actuator cart configurations

• Conduct system calibration, scheduled maintenance, and harness checkouts

• Assist in development of custom test equipment and documentation

• Provide general lab support including equipment organization and follow-up on hardware returns

• Support training material updates and troubleshooting guide contributions

• Participate in lab inventory upkeep, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with hardware engineers and technical teams on project support needs

Top Skills Required:

1. Knowledge of electronic circuits

2. System troubleshooting experience

3. Familiarity with electronic tools and data measurement systems

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a technician or technical support role

• Strong hands-on experience with electronic systems and lab testing environments

• Ability to interpret and execute test setup requirements

• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
