Location: Remote (with travel to Florida as needed)

Programs Supported: FEMA PA, Hazard Mitigation, and other federally funded disaster recovery initiatives

 

Plexos Group LLC is seeking experienced and motivated Engineers—Civil, Environmental, and Structural—to support ongoing disaster recovery programs in the State of Florida. These programs are funded under various FEMA initiatives and focus on restoring infrastructure, enhancing community resilience, and preparing for future hazards. This position offers remote work flexibility with occasional travel to impacted sites across Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and design reviews of disaster-damaged infrastructure
  • Provide engineering oversight for construction and rehabilitation efforts under FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation programs
  • Prepare technical reports, scopes of work, and cost estimates that meet FEMA guidelines and eligibility criteria
  • Review mitigation and resilience plans to ensure technical feasibility and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with local governments, state agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery
  • Travel to disaster sites for inspections, audits, and stakeholder meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to funding application support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Structural Engineering (or related field)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
  • 3+ years of engineering experience, with prior involvement in FEMA-funded or similar disaster recovery programs highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of FEMA PA, Hazard Mitigation, or disaster recovery funding streams
  • Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with plan reviews and regulatory standards
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed
